Sam & Alex
Things don’t always work out the way you plan but it’s so great when they turn out better than you could have imagined. Alex and Sam had originally planned a large celebration in New Orleans. But like so many other couples in 2020, their plans were derailed by travel and gathering restrictions. Not letting that stop them from celebrating, they chose to hold an intimate ceremony in California where they have family. Through Airbnb, they found the coziest little cabin tucked away in the woods. With string lights, vintage rugs and flowers, they added their own personal touches creating a truly magical setting. One of the most important elements for them was that they really wanted to enjoy their day and be with their family as much as possible. They didn’t want to spend very much time taking posed photos and wanted the day mostly captured candidly. That’s exactly what they got. We let the evening unfold naturally and move at its own pace. And when it came time for their photos, well, it’s amazing what 10 minutes with a gorgeous backdrop and some beautiful light can do. That’s the only time we spent taking photos of the two of them. The rest of the evening was spent documenting all the lovely moments just as they happened. It wasn’t the big New Orleans wedding they thought they would have, but it was perfect, absolutely perfect.
