On Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing two very good friends of mine for their engagement photos. We started out at Balboa Park where we took advantage of the architecture and gardens and really just the fun park atmosphere. Jocelyn and Paul brought their personalities to the table and really hammed it up for a few shots. They even brought along a couple of wigs which we used for some more silly pics. I was laughing so hard at some points I had to stop shooting. I just couldn’t take it… it was too funny. After the park we headed over to La Jolla Cove for some romantic beach shots. These two have it all! They can laugh together and when it comes to the more intimate shots they can turn that on too. What a fun day with friends. Congratulations you two! Can’t wait for the wedding in August.

Last Saturday I photographed Rachel and Kevin’s wedding at the Grace E. Simmons Lodge in Elysian Park. What a hidden gem this is! It was such a beautiful location tucked away in the woodsy atmosphere of the park. There’s even a Japanese garden with running water that wraps around and reaches a small pond with a fountain. It’s a very serene and intimate spot. Rachel looked breathtaking in her floor length gown and Kevin was stylin’ in his suit and tie. These two did it right with only their closest friends and family to celebrate with them. I gotta say, I’m a fan of these two. They were so laid back and really enjoyed every second of the day. And not to mention that they are just so freakin cute together. Congratulations you two on a beautiful wedding!

Isla Opening on Sunset

June 17, 2008

Last Tuesday I had the privilege of photographing the opening of Isla, a restaurant on Sunset Blvd. It’s right next to Red Rock and has amazing food and out of this world drinks. If you’re in the area you have to stop by for some of it’s creative cuisine and vibrant atmosphere. Everyone there couldn’t help but get into the festive mood and have a great time. Check it out! I’m telling you… you won’t be disappointed.

Last week I got to photograph Miss Lauren and her family for the second time. Lauren is almost four and has grown up a bit since last I saw her but she hasn’t changed at all. She is still the cute, adorable, and playful little girl I remember. We all met up in Malibu where we had access to a gorgeous house right on the ocean. Lauren enjoyed playing in the sand and running away from the waves with her mom. She’s such an energetic little thing but I managed to keep up. What a great way to spend the day… beach, sun, and surf.
