I met up with Candise and Paul recently at Angels Flight in Downtown Los Angeles. This place is so cool! After being shut down for nearly three decades it has reopened and fares to ride are just a quarter. If you haven’t checked it out yet you should… plus there’s a really nice view of downtown up there as well. Check out some of the favorites we got that day… Candise and Paul are just too cute!

I just shot Carolina and Robert’s engagement photos in Griffith Park. We had a great time hiking through the hills and finding fun little spots to shoot. And these two are just so adorable and cute together. They really made my job easy. They’re getting married next year in Chile… totally awesome! Congratulations you guys! Have fun at your destination wedding.

Leslie and Dave in Malibu

October 8, 2009

Last weekend I met Leslie and Dave in Malibu to shoot their engagement session. These two love the outdoors and are very adventurous and athletic… so they decided to have their pics taken on a hiking trail and the beach. Both spots were gorgeous of course! We even saw a few deer while we were walking through the woods… just a little bonus. Leslie and Dave are so much fun and quite the models too. They were really letting loose and having a good time… I like that! We ended the day at the Santa Monica Pier to get a few fun carnival shots. It was super chilly but we made it through… we even rode the ferris wheel. So fun!! I’m so happy for Leslie and Dave… they really are just as cute as can be. Congratulations you guys!

Last weekend I got to shoot in San Pedro with Nicole and Daniel. We started out in the downtown area and walked around a bit to see what we could find. We found some really vibrant colors and murals and some cool graffiti as well. Daniel loves graffiti so it was right up his alley. Afterwards, we headed to The Sunken City which is this amazing waste land. Several decades ago this block of San Pedro fell into the ocean. Now it’s composed of jagged pieces of pavement and sidewalk entangled with mounds of dirt and weeds. Over the years the bits of concrete and asphalt have been covered with graffiti which makes for a beautiful contrast with the nature around it. We had so much fun hiking around and exploring all the nooks and crannies of this broken block. I love that Nicole and Daniel are so adventurous!

Since we shot on July 11th, we couldn’t resist stopping by 7-Eleven for a free Slurpee.

Megan and Mike in Malibu

July 15, 2009

Last week I met up with Megan and Mike in Malibu for their engagement shots. They both live in Malibu so the pier seemed like the perfect spot for them. We also shot at the Adamson House which holds a special place for them because that’s where they met. It’s also where they’re getting married. It’s absolutely gorgeous there and it was hard for me to stop shooting. We were graced with an amazing blue sky and perfect weather. I love it when that happens. And it doesn’t hurt to have an adorable couple like these two either. So cute! I’m looking forward to seeing them again in September for their wedding.

Yesterday I met up with Amber and Marcus to shoot their engagement session. They are both huge music lovers so they decided to have their shoot done at Amoeba Records. What a great idea! The photo ops were endless and we had such a great time. Amber and Marcus are just so cute together… just look at how sweet they are. I can’t wait for their wedding in August.

Annalou and Don

January 27, 2009

On Saturday I met Annalou and Don in Old Town Pasadena to shoot their engagement photos. We were worried that it was going to rain but we got lucky and the rain held out. We had nice overcast lighting to work with all day… it was fabulous! We explored some alley ways and brick walls keeping it very urban. Then we headed over to Alverno High School for a little Italian villa flare. This place is one of my favorite locations to shoot. It’s just too gorgeous for words… and so were Annalou and Don. They were such the perfect subjects working it the whole day. Thanks for the fun day you two. Looking forward to seeing you again in March.

Leslie and Damon

September 10, 2008

On Sunday I met Leslie and Damon in San Marino at the Huntington Library Gardens to shoot their engagement photos. It was nearly 100 degrees that day but we still managed to overcome and get some great shots. Not only do the gardens always prove to be a great spot for photos but Leslie and Damon were so comfortable in front of the camera… what a bonus! They were so sweet with each other and constantly cracking up… they were just too cute. Afterwards we headed over to Old Town Pasadena for some urban flair. I love all the fun alley ways and brick walls you can discover here. We took advantage and wrapped up the day with one of my favorite long exposure shots. What a fun day! I’m looking forward to seeing Leslie and Damon again in November for their wedding.

Here are a few favorites from the day.

On Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing two very good friends of mine for their engagement photos. We started out at Balboa Park where we took advantage of the architecture and gardens and really just the fun park atmosphere. Jocelyn and Paul brought their personalities to the table and really hammed it up for a few shots. They even brought along a couple of wigs which we used for some more silly pics. I was laughing so hard at some points I had to stop shooting. I just couldn’t take it… it was too funny. After the park we headed over to La Jolla Cove for some romantic beach shots. These two have it all! They can laugh together and when it comes to the more intimate shots they can turn that on too. What a fun day with friends. Congratulations you two! Can’t wait for the wedding in August.

Some wig action.

Sabrina and Ricky

May 5, 2008

Yesterday I met Sabrina and Ricky at UCLA to photograph their engagement session. Not only is the UCLA campus just a beautiful spot to photograph, it also holds special meaning to Sabrina because she graduated from there. After wrapping up at the campus we headed over to the Santa Monica Pier. I always have such a great time shooting there. It’s so much fun with the carnival atmosphere and the beach. Sabrina and Ricky really got into the playful mood. They’re so cute together! They were really cracking me up.
